fit.com - free site to put in your calories, exercise, etc. yaa, it will take some time to track it but it will bring results. this site is a little oldfasioned, a more exciting site is sparkpeople.com - it is more comprehensive as well
forum on ediets - actually i didn't use any of other services offered but the 3 point forum was my lifeline, altho i didn't post much. 3 points are water, best food available in calorie range you need, and exercise - as simple as that - you do it everyday and you are all set
you know it is not as easy as it sounds and for that there were the rule - "no whining allowed" - you can not come in and wine how you got upset and eat the whole cake - no, nobody will say - Oh poor, you are so saaaad - nope you get your butt kicked for posting it. if you had a slip and you needed advice what to do so not to repeat it then it would be different.
what was also special was one member of that forum - her writings would touch you to the core. i have some of her of her musings saved and read them when i need a boost. there a lot of connection between food and emotions - and it helps to learn what food, eating means to you.
and then there is and issue of trigger food. for some it is no problem but for many there is some food that we just need to finish. i know for myself i can have ice cream in my fridge for days but then some strong emotion and it would start to call my name. so there was no ice cream in my fringe for years. but i go and eat an ice cream cone time at a time. but for some they need not to adjust but eliminate some of the food.knowing yourself, leaning by trial and error what work for you
education rules - i can send you some info on workouts and nutrition if you want.
70 lb later.....lighter.....)))))))))))

I've made my first big step, giving up Coke. I think I was drinking 3500 Calories a week in the stuff. In theory, that's a pound a week, if I don't compensate somewhere else. So far I've been pretty careful about that, I haven't noticed the scale plummeting, but I think I see a difference in my face.
I have an appointment with my doctor's nutritionist on the 20th, I think I am going to get hit pretty hard, there! In the past year my genetic tendency towards diabetes seems to have kicked in, especially in the past six months or so. So I think I will be due for a considerable diet change.
I drink a LOT of water, even more now that the Coke is out. Not drinking water here in the desert is a sure way to get sick, fast.
I will check out those sites you mentioned too! I know the next step is to get less sedentary. I have a knee that makes some kinds of exercise troublesome (no running), but there is still plenty I can do, it I just would!
exercise that gets my heart up - makes me high, works as a ad short term. I also like when there is a good instructor (crazy one) that can energize the group so the synergy of the people who are having fun working out together is incredible)))))))

strength training may be a major turn around for you.
it is worth sometimes not to check the weight but to get measurements with a tape. get it anyway now as a base and see where you can take yourself in sparkpeople they have special table you can input your info and then see reports and progress

I figure it will take a while to tell if the celexa is doing anything, and I'll go from there. I'm not expecting a miracle, but a little kick would be nice.
I know exercise would help me feel better, too, once I got it going. That is going to be trickier!
wow, giving up coke is a major accomplishment - and you are still alive to tell the tale - hooray for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a pretty longstanding habit, too! I almost always had one in the morning, usually one at lunch, and often in the afternoon, as well. I miss it, for sure, but I'd like to think that at this point I should be ok, since it has been almost a month!
