Is this an army or mission posting?

How do you stand it? I will say a prayer for him.

Marines. He's in a reserve unit, but asmost as soon as he finished his initial his initial training the unit was activated. They've been at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina for the past six or eight weeks training as infantry, he goes back there, and they pack up and leave. I don't know how we'll stand it, it's the first time!

I appreciate the prayers!

Mercy. I've lived through a lot. I don't know if I could stand what you're living through.

I'm so thankful for those who seve to protect us. We are able to walk the streets safely because of men like your son. I promise to keep him in my prayers.

Thanks sg! I don't really even know why he signed up, probably lots of little things. But you are right, we shoudl be thankful for the ones that do. I'm glad he is going there, rather than Iraq, though they say they'll get that, eventually. I can't say I'm looking forward to that!

This would be a great weekend to ask him and find out!

Ironically my thread finally just locked at 152 posts when I took a turn for the worse.
Where's that forum for Separated under the same roof?

I don't know, that's why I moved in here!

As far as S goes, I think he wanted more independence than he'd get going straight to college. He wanted to pay his own way more. And I don't think he really wanted to start college right away. He did really well on the ASVAB test, and the recruiter waved money in from of him. Of course it isn't big money, but it looks like it to a high school kid. All of that said, he seems really happy, and excited. So, it may be that it is a good thing. I just wish the situation in the world was a bit different! But that is part of being a parent, I guess!

If we have this gathering, there will be some hotdogs on Friday night! Maybe you can find someone to watch the place for a couple days. Does H hunt all month? Make him earn his keep!

I could find help but it would depend on what's all in the works 6 months from now. If I started now I could be D'd by then!

DH, it's a little funny you would ask me something about my H. How the heck would I know?! but yes, last year he hunted most of the month and it was on different trips out of state. That would also contribute to his lack of funds - all play, no work.

I am so proud of your son! I can imagine how tight your shirt must be!

Yeah, how would you know! Who knows what the future has in store. Probably not what we expect. Beyond that...????

My shirt is pretty tight. I shouldn't eat so much!
