(((((dar)))))

The thing about Arizona landscaping is that it fights back! Everything has spines, or stickers, or worse! The grasses have timy little stickies that get in your socks, they hurt, but they are almost impossible to find and remove. Most of the trees have stickers or spines. The cactii are, well, almost all spinyy and stickery! Some have nice barbs that make them really hard to remove once they get in you!

On the other hand, I think it is beauticul in it's own, very rugged way! And we had rain this winter, so the claim is that we should be in for an excellent wildflower season!

On the plus side, besides being beautiful in its own way, the plants in AZ are pretty hard to kill, which means no seasonal replanting or trying to find just the right spot for it to get just the right amount of sun lol.

Yea, I wouldn't want the sticky part of your landscaping, but to me when I see the NV or AZ landscaped homes on tv, they look so awesome! Maybe it's because there isn't grass and it's something different to me, not sure, but to me it's beautiful!

Yes, that's a VERY good plus side Michelle! Being in Chicago, I completely know what you're talking about with that one!

Lol. Having run into a few cacti myself, I know about the sticky part of it. It's definitely the type of landscaping to admire from afar. Kinda funny that you have to avoid the plants but some of the spiders look very soft and pettable lol.

Yeah, the @#$^%$&@546 tumbleweed is particularly tough to kill!

When you do get soemthing to transplant figuring out where to grab it to move it can be a problem!

All of that said, I really do like the way it looks. Though I went an office building yesterday that had a pretty large patch of grass out front. Environmentally, a really bad isea here. But it had just been mowed, and the smell......!

I think it may be one reason I like golf! (It certainly isn't because I have any skill!) The smell of the freshly mown grass is just, I don't know, what it is!

It's revitalizing! It's relaxing. It's yummy. I don't know. Hard to put in words.
Although, those with allergies to it will disagree. \:\)

Since I inherited a skin allergy to rye grass from my dad, grass isn't too high on my list.

Personally, I think hops and brewing coffee are two of my favorite smells in the world. Followed closely by lavender and most candles lol.
