I've been in your shoes, my dear-- it's scary. My late H fell in the dining room and broke his hip... had to have hip replacement surgery. It's so hard to see your guy hurting that way.
Thanks Lil, GGB
Lil, the most amazing thing was as he's laying there with his back up to the wall waiting for the ambulance to arrive. His jeans are turning red from blood...and he's calmly comforting ME!!! I don't know where he gets the ability to mask obvious pain the way he does. The EMT's arrive and the SOB is joking with them!...asking one of them what the weather is supposed to be like the next day because he wants to go skiing
The poor girl EMT didn't know what to think of IC. She goes to put an IV in his arm and just before she sticks it in...IC's like "No wait!!! Is it gonna hurt?"
All I can say is that he's an unpredictable nut....and I wouldn't have him any other way
On the bright side - hopefully one step closer to beating this
It's been a long past few days guys...I'm going to go try and get some sleep
I just got an email from your boy IC. He seemed to be in good spirits considering his condition.
I might have to take him up on that bear hunting trip now. I think I might be able to out run him and leave him worrying about the bruin And no IC, I don't mean the ones from Boston
Lil, how about a 3:00 AM nurse visit to wake you from your slumber? {"Seinfeld" re-run..(click).."Friends" re-run..(click)..Oh Jessica Simpson infomercial..(click).."just buy this book and you too can make millions by doing nothing"..(click)}Where is Gilligan's Island when you need him?
Thank God for Al Gore inventing the internet...didn't he also invent pants? Or was that a "Saturday Night Live" skit?
I can't buy much luck of late. I've been accidently dropping things on the floor on purpose to get the nurses to bend over, but it's always the big burly butch ones that always seem to notice. Sorry, them bending only at the waist to pick something up is NOT aiding in my healing process
Ok, I better go. The meds are starting to kick in and an incoherent IC on the boards cannot be a good thing

Not a whole lot to report. IC's been moved from ICU but things are progressing slowly, which is expected...but also has IC chomping at the bit
It's been a very hectic week and it's starting to catch up to me. I've been given specific orders from the self proclaimed boss that I'm not to visit the hospital today. I'm going to do just that, but I'm not going to let on like it had anything to do with his orders....I gotta let him know who the real boss is
Well, we are getting closer and closer to IC's return home
I want to thank the e-mailers (you all know who you are) for your support. It's been really nice to come home from a trying day and find a comment that someone is thinking of you...doesn't make one feel so alone.
IC's made his mark on the hospital wing that he is in. He's been giving guitar lessons to one of the older nurses on her lunch breaks. She comes in every afternoon with her lunch and spends it with IC...it's pretty sweet, I think she is going to miss him when he leaves.
The girls want their daddy home...they have just been little angels through all of this. I'm so proud of them and how they have acted and how helpful they have been for only being 5 & 3. It helps to validate that hopefully we're not failing them as parents and the things that we are trying to teach them IS getting through.
Well, that is my update for today. Nothing really new to report...I just want him home, it's quiet, lonely and I really miss feeling him beside me
I'm very happy to hear that IC will be coming home soon. Give him my best, please. I'm thinking of you both. IC has a wonderful spirit, and you've been a tower of strength throughout all of this. Your girls ARE very lucky to have two such parents.
