Yoyo- I told myself that it was no big deal, but then realized that I still had a bit of that exact "wind knocked out of me" feeling. I hate that I feel that way.

And you are right about not counting on them.

Sue,

As incredibly HARD as it is to do, the best thing to do in a situation like this is to -- as cheerfully as you can -- say something like "OK! Your loss, toots, cuz I'm gonna look HOT Saturday night, too! Well . . . I'm going. If you wanna come, great. If not, your loss!" -- and walk away.

And then, of course, GO.

I know that's easier said than done, but he's pulling your chain -- controlling you. The more you act like it doesn't bother you, the more you'll throw him off his axis.

I agree with Choc. You have a sitter lined up, so call a friend and go out for a movie - or drinks - or dancing - whatever sounds FUN to you! Don't let his cr@ppy attitude ruin your fun weekend!

Choc & Rob-

The exact thought ran through my mind of still going out. The one friend of mine already has plans, but H doesn't know that. I can go grab a movie or something.....just wander around.

H asked me last night if I'd checked to see if there were tickets available for the movie on Sat. I just said, yes there are and walked out of the room.

Rob, my GAL list isn't really GAL in the way that most people would do it. It doesn't include manicures, new clothes...etc. It's more of a list of organizing my life so I can GAL. Unfortunately, I have some bills that are behind. Small amounts, but enough that adds up. I've been trying to get them taken care of, but haven't worked very hard at it. I pulled everything out last night and started making calls today and made a few payments. It makes me feel better to see them paid off. I make decent money, but with these small bills, paying for D3 and I, those small bills NEED to be gone. I like the fact that I have a good amount in my 401K and life insurance, but I wish I could use some of that to just get rid of it all once and for all.

I need to leave early today, so I better get some more done here.

SueS

Him: "Sue, are there still tickets available for that movie?"

Sue: "Why, I thought you didn't want to go? If you do, you need to let me know, because I think I have other plans now."

There's nothing wrong with any of that... Just don't forget to have some fun too! \:\) (And don't tell me fun costs too much money - if you use that excuse, you just aren't thinking hard enough!)
