There is no dilemma. Monkey is getting what she wants; Monkey is congruent. Reminds me of the story of the Frog and the Scorpion.
I agree that Monkey is congruent but the thing about Monkey is that she wins by losing or she loses by winning. Therefore, it may be the case that Monkey wins more when she loses worse. So, compare and contrast the following examples with the one I gave earlier.
Counterexample 1:
Wolf : Peel your banana.
Monkey : Okay.
Counterexample 2:
Wolf: Peel your banana.
Monkey: Why should I?
Wolf: Because you know that you want to.
Monkey (being a creature not above mild deceit): You wish.
Wolf: No. I know. (Pins down monkey and peels her banana.)
Actually, what my counter-example might point out is that the animal who has some issues with the monkey "winning" by "losing" is the lioness. For instance, it has been my experience that after a Wolf "wins" a few rounds with my Monkey, I feel pretty much compelled to bring in my Lioness if she hasn't already shown up. Then when the Wolf is collapsed on the floor by the bed or mumbling incoherently about issues related to his age and what he may or may not be up to anymore, the Monkey returns and does a little victory dance for the girl team.

It seems very clear to me that the convo goes like this
Wolf: Peel your banana
Monkey: Why should I
Wolf: because you know you want to
Monkey: I do know I want to, but I also know you want me to and that makes me want to and not want to in equal measure. I may have to save my banana until later so your desire has no effect on my enjoyment of it.

This is an interesting take. Sexually the monkey actually wants to sense as much desire as possible from the wolf but because the monkey is a rebel she also wants to not do what others want her to do. So she wants to be compelled to do what she wants to do against her will. Of course, the example I gave neglects the teasing aspect of the monkey which is the flip-side of the rebellious aspect. The monkey teases the wolf until the wolf tries to control the monkey then the monkey resists control even though she wants to be controlled. Really kind of makes you feel sorry for the wolf, doesn't it? -lol. It's no wonder many men just go for the passive bunny.

See... Mo... I think you are talking about a Lioness. Monkeys are pretty much GAME. Did you not watch the clip? A monkey teases in order to get someone to play. What you are talking about above... is more of a male cat/female cat kind of thing... maybe you should watch a Lion Mating Dance, and you'd see what I mean...
If some guy said to me...
Wolf: Peel your banana
Monkey: Why should I
Wolf: because you know you want to
That, his last response, to me, is asking for Lioness. Now if he said... "cuz I'm holding it just out of your reach... nah, nah, you can't get it..." that's asking for monkey. The former... is asking for full frontal Lioness assault... which a Lioness may or may NOT decide she wants to do... so she might then say...
"Of course I WANT **a** banana.... but what makes YOUR banana worth me peeling it?"
And now that I have gone and found such things, I think it interesting that I called myself a panther, not a lioness... we might have to switch labels, here....
The Panther
The name panther is often associated with a particular species of leopard or jaguar and sometimes the cougar. The black panther is smaller but more fierce than lions and tigers. They are agile climbers and excellent swimmers. Because they can sprint with great speed they hold the teachings of quick decisive action.
Panthers have over 400 voluntary muscles that can be used at will when the need arises. This symbolizes an ability to shape shift realities using all parts of the body to perform a task. They can move gracefully in and out of situations as well as freeze and not be noticed. Because the panther is not a good long distant runner those with this medicine should incorporate movement therapies into their life that enhance endurance. They need to learn how to pace themselves and not push to fast or hard on any one task.
The power of the panther is the power of silence. It is extremely quiet when hunting or stalking. It knows when to make its presence known and when to become invisible. The panther holds the secrets of unseen worlds and is associated with lunar energies. Within the darkness of night lies the truth of creation. Those with this totem hold knowledge of a galactic origin. They have a responsibility to care take this knowledge and caution must be applied when sharing it with others. When the student is ready the teacher appears. If the student isn't ready the information received could be detrimental.
Panthers have acute sensitivity. The hairs on its body especially on the face pick up subtle vibrations. This is symbolic for those with this totem. It indicates a need to pay attention to their feelings and honor the messages those feelings convey. Touch can be an important avenue to explore to awaken ones hidden gifts. The black panthers coat, sleek, smooth and sensual has been linked to sexuality. When panther appears in a persons life it might be asking you to resolve old sexual issues or to embrace your sexuality fully.
The black panther has great mysticism associated with it. It represents the life and power of the night. It can show us how to embrace the darkness and awaken the light within it. When you experience the presence of panther one of its most noticeable features is its unblinking stare. It appears to see right through the body. Those with this medicine use their eyes as a healing tool and have the potential to heal on a cellular level.
Author Ted Andrews states that in Egyptian rituals a panther tail was worn around the neck or waist to help protect and strengthen the individual. It has been a symbol of the "Argos of a Thousand Eyes," who guarded the heifer -- who was loved by Zeus. After his death, the eyes were transferred to the feathers of the peacock. A powerful totem to have the panther always brings a guardian energy to those to whom it comes.
"Of course I WANT **a** banana.... but what makes YOUR banana worth me peeling it?"
I think I messed up this whole analogy with the use of the term "banana". In a real life example the wolf saying "peel your banana" would really be more like the wolf saying "take off your pants". The "banana" is more clitoral than phallic. I agree that if the banana was phallic it would be more like the wolf was asking for the lioness.
I hope everyone understands that I'm just having fun with this exercise. Life is good in Mojo's zoo.

I was thinking about the zoo last night, lying next to Ms.Hdog. I imagined her lioness and her monkey cowering in the shadows of their cages. Her bunny is the spawn of the Rabbit of Caerbannog from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," ("That's the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!"). Her cow is, well, a decent cow. I suppose her lioness and monkey come out of hiding to protect and play with our daughter, but slink back to the shadows when called out by me.
And the zookeeper, she thinks all is fine and dandy and is unwilling to do anything to change her zoo, or to give any weight to comments, complaints, suggestions, etc. from the zoo-goers. The unfortunate thing is that she will be the keeper of a zoo without any visitors. But maybe that's her preference. Until then, the animals that get nurtured and fed remain her cow and her killer bunny. The other two just sleep.

I know what you're saying but instead of seeing her bunny as "foul, cruel" etc. I would see it as her dysfunctional rabid non-sexual lioness protecting her weak bunny which is hiding in a hole. She is in denial that her bunny is weak because she thinks she has bunny protected with lioness and she is in denial of monkey for reasons not unlike those which caused me to be in denial of bunny. Therefore, it's actually possible that she has a pretty strong monkey hidden in the tree.

Okay, I am now officially a total citizen of the electronic age. I run an internet based business and communicate with my customers via e-mail. I interact regularly with a large group of, as LP put it, "darling" friends/pseudo-therapists on a BB. I found my current man on Match (really he found me)and now I have sex with him every night via cell phone after we talk about our days and watch a bit of TV together. The thing I find semi-disturbing is that this is actually about 80% satisfactory for me. But then I picked up a copy of Cosmo and in the embarrassing incidents column a college girl wrote about falling backwards in her chair while having webcam sex with her boyfriend and the klutzyness was the embarrassing part. The webcam sex is just normal college behavior these days so I guess I'm really still just catching up on the way technology has changed the dating scene.
