How is day-care impossible? Many schools have an extended-care type of thing. Or, find a pre-school program that is longer. My d4 is in a Pre-K class, and s18mos goes to the same day-care, different class. You'll likely pay an arm and a leg for it, but if it gets w out of the house and able to work, it may be worth it for her. Perhaps just a part-time job would be just what she needs. Some adult interaction during the day so she doesn't start talking like Dora the Explorer.
In my opinion, day-care sucks, and it's awesome that she's been able to stay home with the kids. Believe me, I think it makes a difference in their lives. I wish I had to means to be able to stay home.
