Hi Everyone, I've had a very busy day. I'm reviewing my students for semester exams, yes that dreaded time of the year. I hope everyone is having a nice day.

Finished the cookie exchange. Turns out good that I didn't do the haystacks, because someone else did a similar candy, although hers had peanuts and caramel in it too. Tasted a lot like gorp -- the stuff you eat when you're backpacking. Glad that's over. My new laptop arrived, so I have to get that setup. Now I won't have to share a computer with J. I get to sit on my butt for more hours of the day!
Sara, sounds like you have a lot of cookies to eat. I bet your men can help you take care of them!
Saffie, I hate that you are still feeling poorly!
DD16 has a basketball game to cheer and dance at tonight. They get to do their Christmas dance that they have been working on. They will look so pretty, they will all be dressed in red Santa Claus dresses and hats. It's so hard to believe it is Christmas time. Where does time go?

You must come with me to visit New Orleans sometime. It is still the old south in a lot of ways (not all of them good). But we can sit on the veranda of an antebellum mansion on St. Charles Avenue and sip mint juleps while we watch the people go by. If we're lucky, the streetcar will be running again by then. And then we can go to the French Quarter for dinner at Antoine's and beignets at the French Market. There's nothing like a lazy day in New Orleans.
