Wow man, sorry you had such a rough weekend. It really is amazing what she does. You couldn't make stuff like this up.

jar, here's to a better Monday!!! She is amazing, what a piece of work. Keep talking to your D's and then say you have to go. No asking how she is, and brief answers if she asks you (and she will).
Jarhead, I almost forgot, yesterday was veterans day and I wanted to say thanks.
We saw the parade before church yesterday, and my boys kept asking are those the Marines? I kept saying no, not yet.
When they did come by I was furious. They were all over the place, out of step, bouncing, no resemblance to close order drill at all.
Then I realized that they were JROTC, not the local reserve unit.
Whew, hahaha I'm turning into a grouchy old man. (that's not how it was in the OLD Corps....) I hope someone is around with a 2x4 if I ever say that.
Thanks again.

Funny.. Two things from my Marine Corps times I will never forget:
1. At 29 Palms California, I got to see the Silent Drill Team. If you've not seen this team in person, I recommend you see them if at all possible. Anyway.. they were on the Generals lawn which is easily 4-5 football fields. One of the Marines lost his cover (hat) and one of the other Marines slowly marched to get it. I swear it took 10 minutes for him to march out, pick up the cover (dusted if off all ceremonial too), march back, place it back on the Marines head and carry on. The team continued on, just very cool.
2. I went to a computer repair class in Ft. Huachuca AZ. Multi service schools.. Army, Air Force, Marines and Navy. Anyway, I was in a night class, so I got to watch the services come in and out for their classes during the day. All the other branches would kind of walk in formation and move from place to place. The Marines.. keep in mind these are all E-3's and below.. less than 2 years in EASILY.. would precision drill in and out of the barracks. Everyone.. and I mean EVERYONE would stop to watch these guys march in. Talk about swelling up with pride!!
JROTC is funny.. I remember being in San Diego and a JROT was starting to give me crap for not saluting him.. I've never seen a Sgt. Major move that fast!! "You leave the real Marines alone.. what the H#@# is wrong with you!!"
Lastly.. I've actually been to Iwo Jima.. coolest, toughest, proudest thing I've ever done in my life. I've got a large baggie of sand too.
Yeah... may need to do that!! They are my B-ball team.
How backwards is that???
It's all for the best though.. last year the W wouldn't let me go watch the National Championship game with some friends (I know.. she's a prize pig), so I was blamed for the loss.
I was going to potentially miss the Michigan game, again.. due to aformentioned animal.
When I lived & worked in Kentucky, a colleague of mine was even more messsed up. His favorite college basketball team was U KY, his favorite NFL team was Miami, and his favorite college football team was Notre Dame.
Just knowing this, I was well aware that he was by my side as long as things were going well... Wondering now how is loyalty to ND and Dolphins are today? Knowing him, probably not too strong.
OK, now I know that the British and the Americans talk a different language LOL.
We had our Remeberence Service this weekend. 11th hour of 11th day of 11th month - still gives me goosebumps. Ex-RAF, so I echo the military sentiments - they take so much crap and still protect our freedom (Per ardua ad astra - Through struggles to the stars).
Jar, Go dark, she knows you will continue to pursue her and is enjoying the power. No texts, minimal calls and you call the shots; how much do you want to bet that your phone will be red hot after 2 days.
So... little update. W has called and we talked about D's. Kept it short and sweet.
I could tell she wanted to talk more, but I wouldn't let her do it.
A female friend of mine from a looong time ago is in town and the only opportunity to see her would be on Thursday.. which is the night I usually watch the D's for W due to school. I pinged her to ask if I was watching them and of course I'm not.
So.. while I'm typing this, W calls to talk about the weekend schedule.. it's my weekend, but KY makes you take the kids to a "Families In Transition" class. She's taking D5 (D3 doesn't have to go) this weekend. It's a Friday and Saturday thing.. so we hashed the schedule.
I asked her again if I wasn't needed on Thursday and she said yes.. she asked if that was cool with me to which I replied yes.
She: "Why.. do you have plans?" Me: "Yeah.. a friend of mine is in town and it's probably the only night I'll get to see her" She: "....... Her?" Me: "Yeah.. So you'll call the D's later?"
