Wow....really poignant.

My therapist tried to give me a model...rather than me trying to rescue my wife, view it as both of us being lost, like Hansel and Gretel in the woods, needing each other for each of our own salvation.

But in truth, It's more like orpheus.

It's really important that you avoid Orpheus' fate. He was doomed to wander the earth and play unhappy music for the rest of his life. You have to do better than that.

I'll re-read the myth.

I read a wonderful book called the Orphean Passages about a young minister whose life parallels Orpheus.

The writer, Walter Wangerin, tells the story of Orpheus, with an interpretation, and then tells the story of a minister.
