From what I have read so far it’s about positive thinking brings positive things. Your Mind is very powerful. I know this as fact. When I had my accident the doctors told my parents I was not going to live through the night. I did not want to die. I am here. Thought patterns can me measured electronically. There is a force generated. The book is about tapping into that force basically.
In theory I can see the connection but like I said I just started reading it. My son's tae kwon do instructor used to get upset when he would ask my son to do something and if my son said "he would try" that means my son does not think he can do it. He should answer "Yes" then it turns into It may not happen right now. It may not happen next week but it will happen. I will do it. People tend to think more about what they don't want. Instead they should turn their thoughts to what they do want.
how am I doing Theo?
Husband
And if I claim to be a wise man, well It surely means that I don't know
It sounds like an interesting book. I see that it is also a movie. In dance class as children we were never allowed to say "I can't." But it was OK to say "I'll try." I certainly believe that the mind does have great power. But I don't think I would enjoy living in a society where everyone was trying to use the power of their minds all the time. I felt that when I visited a friend in San Francisco a few years ago. IT seemed like everyone was trying to manipulate everyone else. I couldn't wait to go home to Louisiana where people just wanted to sit and have a drink and visit with each other. No mind games.
I was confused by your letter because you said something was hard to write because it was a lie. But I didn't know what was a lie. That's what confused me.
I've heard about The Secret. She was channeling a guide or something, right?
You might also be interested in What the Bleep Do We Know. It discusses similar themes through the theory of quantum physics (It's a movie). Very cool and thought provoking. The power of intention.
Actually, if you wanted to delve deeper, I could also suggest material by Barbara Brennnan as she discusses the human energy field and universal connections. She also discusses the energetic dynamics of relationships and how we connect to others, etc. Light Emerging is one of her more user friendly books.
Of course, there is always Deepak Chopra. He could fill up your library, but, for us, I would recommend The Path to Love. I read it years ago. Thinking I should re-read it...
OK, sorry, I'm babbling.
Husband, did I read somewhere that you go to the Hideaway? The one on South St?
