MIL & FIL were here today. They checked out the new digs. They took DDs school shopping. Lots of stuff. Kewl for DDs !!!
I've pretty much have always had a really good relationship with ILs. Even if I've had concerns with FOO issues w/STBXW. And ILs alcohol abuse.
My STBXW has commented that the "boys" in the family were treated better than the "girls" by ILs. And that I was their favorite.
In many ways they have been better to me that my own parents. FIL, and I told him and my STBXW this over the years, has been more of a dad to me than my own.
I sometimes wonder how they feel about the way their children have turned out. I'd think that that has got to be so painful. I feel for them. I can't imagine that hurt. To have 4 out of 5 of your kids become, failures of sorts.

I'm not trying to be mean. Just compassionate. I don't like how things have turned out for me, but look at what they've got to deal with. And the 4 out of 5 are heavily supported financially by ILs.
