Lissie you are right about chivary. Someone offered me his seat on the subway recently and I nearly fell over. Needless to say he was from Eastern Euorpe [and very good looking, though sadly 20 years my junior - you have to draw the line somewhere!]

Of course they do. And I am passing it down to my sons.

I make my boys open the doors, carry the groceries and offer their seats.


I have to teach it to them because it isn't something you see every day anymore.

As a teacher, lugging books, you would think I would get the door opened by at least someone looking to amp up their grade....

more often than not it is the girls who open it for me.

I hear what you are saying, but ... why is saying to the person you pledged 'til death do us part, "I need you and want you more", more difficult than choosing to betray them.

This is what it all comes down to for me...
