Actually, I already have started planning for that. During the course of my MBA, I realized that I have three main areas of talent/skills: analytical thought, creativity, and leadership/management. My current job is a good outlet for the first and third, but has very little creativity involved. So, my plan is to figure out a new career and move to it that involves all three.
I've already started collecting books (what color is my parachute, that kinda stuff) to help with that process. Gonna take a couple months off and enjoy the summer first though - I've earned it.
My long-term plan is to pick a new career and figure out how to bridge the "gap" between where I am now and what I need for that. For example, do I need more training? Additional experience of a certain type? Then work on closing the gap. I want to be prepared to switch no later than when my daughter graduates from high school (3 years) - moving to a different part of the country is a strong possibility at that point.

Happy birthday--and as a teacher, I TOTALLY envy your ability to attend those school productions a little sloshed. I'm thinking the parents and my principal might frown upon *me* doing so...sigh. Just 'cause I'm a teacher doesn't mean it's any less torturous....

Thanks everybody. Birthday was good! We had a nice weekend. ML on Saturday - good stuff! Rode our bikes 32 miles on Sunday in the fantastic weather. Life is treating me well right now.
My sole combined birthday/graduation present was a new HDTV for our great room, very awesome.
