HW, He ALWAYS has identified himself with who is is as a "worker".
It took almost 5 years and an intense college program where I graduated in the top 5% to get me over not being an auto mechanic. I taught myself so much and when the back injury happened I felt like someone could shoot me. I wouldn't have cared but I knew I had to keep the family going, just had to.

I can't post much right now but boy do I relate to some of your ordeals and H work situation.

Other guys I met in college with similar injuries, had similar problems. A few guys got D, some lost cars, trucks, horses, boats, houses because they couldn't work for a long tine.

The 1986 episode was my second out of work because of my back, and I got rid of all debt shortly after the back surgery in 1981. In 86 I had a $$$$ reserve, no debt, and already learned how to live on a shoe string. We didn't sell or lose anything like some guys did.

Like you said, lots of problems, then the straw that tipped the scale.

WOW, losing $200,000, I can't imagine that happening to me. Of course, I never took big risks.
