Mojo, while cleaning out my refrigerator, I thought of this analogy: when you get a letter from him, it's like finding one of those leftovers that got shoved to the back of the refrigerator. You open it and it looks slimy, smells bad, and possibly has a coating of fuzz on it. (I'm sure this never happens to anyone but me. :eyeroll:) One thing you're NOT going to do is eat it to see if it makes you sick, kwim? So just think of his letters like that, okay? You know they will make you sick, so just don't eat them!

Thanks Guys,

I definitely plan on tossing any letters from now on. I told my MIL that I will give her my baby sister the lawyer's contact info and she can pass it on to him for anything important. I probably should avoid communicating with him through my MIL in the future because it's pretty clear to me that even though he has a totally dysfunctional relationship with his mother, his f*cked-up behavior is an attempt to make me be more like her - hyper-sensitive, fused, clingy, prudish, perfectionistic and intrusive. The problem is his mother cries at the drop of a hat - just about everybody in her extended family has made my MIL cry. You actually have to be pretty mean to me to make me cry.

Well, he can just go find somebody new to pick on until she cries with/for him. I shall busy myself finding someone who had a mother who erred on the side of benign neglect but was good at providing physical affection, fun/interesting activities and cookies (probably should have either breast-fed or carried him on her hip a lot too).
