Amy- I meant to get to this earlier.... Having had knee surgery that put me out for a good while.... I think it threw me into a depression that I think has lingering effects even more than twenty years later. I think the idea of just going over and being with him, and helping with things around the house and your daughter makes sense. Help him relax, and feel not useless. A bit challenging, since you'll be doing the stuff, but maybe have him participate in ways that don't take a lot of physical effort. Watch a movie, have some popcorn. Keep the pressure down (I think the bikini staying put away is good, in any case). But be there, and let him be comfortable with you.
I know you are. It's good to see you feeling (or a least writing) a bit more chipper than you had been. I'm far from an expert, but I think that you are on the right path (though we know there's no guarantee), and I'd hate to see your occasional impatience blow it up!
Amy, Wanted to see how you are doing and if you've adjusted to your new place for the time being.
Amy, if you have a moment, Dadnotquiting over on the MLC forum has found one of your postings as mlc and has a posting to you with some questions that only you can answer since they directly apply to you.
I hope you are doing well. Thanks!
Sit quietly, the answers will reveal themselves when you least expect them to. The past is gone, the present is a gift and you need to focus on today, allow the future to reveal itself when it is ready.
This morning I got up and took S14 and a couple of his girlfriends (!) to Busch Gardens. After I dropped them off, I went to see my Grandfather in the nursing home. I had a good visit with him and my Grandma and my aunt. I then came home, colored my hair, styled it, put on some makeup and a sassy sundress and went to my husband's house. That was at 5:30. I just got home .
I might be back in a little bit to post the full update. Might not do it til morning.
I just checked DNQ's thread and I want to get his questions answered...
Today was a good day.
Here's a little teaser for inquiring minds though....
