DO NOT take that as an insult. A lot of men hope and wish to have their mate as a friend.

When we were going through a real rough spot in the rebuilding - not long after the bomb and thought we were going to separate, I asked my H if he would still be my friend. He almost broke down in tears and said it really struck him hard when I said that as he never thought of me like that before but realized that all this time, even during the As, I WAS his friend, and he takes his friendships VERY seriously

So, it isn't necessarily a bad thing - at least it wasn't in my case

It did make me feel good in a way to hear him say that, but in another way, a friend is not what i was wanting to be exactly. I had told him before that we couldn't be friends if we weren't together, only friendly for the childrens sake. I am hoping that he will see one day before it's too late that he will never find a woman who would treat him better than me. I just hope it won't be too late.
